Mabel is no ordinary teenager. Born with a disability she developed an inner strength that would lead her to play competitive wheelchair tennis at the tender age of 16. Her love of the game has opened many doors and she is most inspired when learning from other players. Mabel believes that practice makes perfect and is well known for her repeated displays of courage and persistence.

Mabel was one of four young female wheelchair tennis players hand-picked from around the globe to be invited to compete in the prestigious Cruyff Foundation Junior Masters in Tarbes, France in both 2011 and 2012. South Africa was honoured by the invitation of one of its players to attend the highly-regarded event.
